The direct opposition to the Falcon when its comes to Bathurst was Holden and its mighty GTR XU-1 Torana, winning the race from the big gun GTHO in 1972. Later down the track even though the 1977 LX SL/R 5000 A9X Torana sedan I had the opportunity to work on didn’t win that year the LX A9X hatch took the honours in 78 and 79 elevating it to LEGEND status.
